Hyundai are planning to launch the Genesis Brand (Hyundai Veloster pictured)
The rise and rise of Hyundai (and Kia too) has lead to speculation for some time that the next stage in their evolution is a proper luxury brand to take on Infiniti and Lexus, and it’s now confirmed that Hyundai will be launching the ‘Genesis’ brand within two years. Not to be confused with the ‘Not for the UK’ Hyundai Genesis, the Genesis brand will be a range of cars from Hyundai offering real competition for the luxury brands from Nissan and Toyota, but with a dose of Hyundai pricing and warranty thrown in to the mix. Hyundai’s product manager in Australia – Roland Rivero - has come out and confirmed that the Genesis brand is in the making and will initially – at least in Australia – offer two RWD cars.
The new McLaren P1 supercar is heading for the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed to make its driving debut in the Supercar run. We’ve also had McLaren F1 new boy Sergio Perez driving the P1 round the Top Gear Dunsfold track and Ron Dennis telling us he got round the Top Gear track in the P1 a good 10 seconds quicker than any other road car ever has. But now we’re actually going to see the McLaren P1 driven in anger.
The Rolls Royce Ghost LWB caught testing
At first we didn’t really ‘get’ the Rolls Royce Ghost. It seemed very close to the Phantom in all it offered, particularly in size. And seeing it for the first time – in isolation – as the EX200 did nothing to dissuade us from that notion.
